In 2003 I stored ten boxes of "previous life" safely in my parents' attics while selling everything else I owned. I swapped my safe, well-regulated, suburban lives for an ongoing adventure in an antique Land Cruiser BJ45.

Driving from the Netherlands to Asia and South America

A different world and a new way of living opened up for me and my partner Coen Wubbels – and with that the passion to explore, hear, feel, smell and taste unexplored territories, unfamiliar cultures, unknown faces and untold stories. We drove from the Netherlands to Vietnam, visiting many countries in between [Iran, Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Laos and Cambodia – to name a few]. In 2007, our non-stop overland adventure brought us the Americas where we are currently exploring Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and the Guianas.

We are a freelance duo, providing text (Karin-Marijke) and images (Coen) for magazines and organisations worldwide. Among these are:

  • Monthly column in Europe's biggest four-wheel drive magazine, Auto Bild Allrad [Germany]
  • Articles in other four-wheel drive magazines such as Toyota Trails [United States], WYPRAWY 4x4 [Poland], 4x4magazine [Hungary], and 4x4 MAGAZINE [Japan].
